August 19th

August 19th, Vancouver, Raining...

A city overrun with people, rich and homeless alike. Starbucks on every corner, every corner that doesn’t already have Blendz on it that is. Everything that you want to see is just a turn to your left, and everything you don’t, to your right. Ying & Yang. Extreme opposites containing each other in embryonic form.
Its raining, but its not cold, even though we're under dressed, man I hope my cell doesn’t get wet. It would be impossible to survive in cotton.
So far from home, but not with out friends, close ones, and not so close ones.

Somebody turns on the speakers, somebody turns on the tap, 15 steps ahead and the paradoxes continue.
There there, the morning bell will ring, and by the time you realize all I need is where I end and you begin, you'll be with the talk show host, and I’ll be nude. In the deepest ocean the bottom of the sea. Your eyes they turn me. Why should I stay here? Why should I stay? Your videotape. I find you, karma finds us. More pain through technology, will the jigsaw fall into place? Or is it just exit music for the bodysnatchers? Somebody turns off the speakers, it doesn’t get quite, we turn up the tap in our house of cards. Optimistic that everything is in its right place, that the reckoner is aware that 2+2=5. Rain down, rain down, from a great height, from a great height... God loves his children.

-Graham Balon

"Until one is commited, there is hesitancy, a chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definately commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never have otherwise occured. A whole stream of events issue from that decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would come his way if he was still doing his thing."

William H Murray

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us... You playing small does nothing to serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to manifest the glory that is within us. And as we let our light shine we unconciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated form our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

Marianne Williamson

Say Hello, Wave Goodbye - David Gray

Pine for the Cedar - Dan Mangan

she might be wearing a green chemise and a hat that she bought ’cause it matches her jeans and the water she drinks, well it comes from the stream by the house she might win in that hospital lottery. and i might be stumbling and cursing them all when she picks me up from the place that we both call disaster relief, for the rent must be paid by the first of the month, or in my case fifteenth. this is good. but as far as i can tell, it’s still heavy as hell when it’s good. and i do like the road but i’d be better at home, i will pine for the oak streets, pine for the cedars and you. bean around, i suppose, i have chatted and chewed, i have lugg’d my guitar to the nice cafe blues and when i come home i am coming home to this street and these avenues. this is good. but as far as i can tell, it’s still heavy as hell when it’s good. and i do like the road but i’d be better at home, i will pine for the oak streets, pine for the cedars and you.

The possibility I am creating for my life and myself, is the purpose of being powerful, creative, and free.

-Graham Balon

My purpose is to spread ideas through my writing and to change the lives of everyone around me for the better.

Fixin' to Die - G. Love's new album produced by the Avett Brothers

Words can not describe how excited I am for this.

Brother Down - Sam Roberts

One life to live but we're doing it wrong you see
Got my brother down 'cause it's nothing to me
Everyone’s saying that it's wrong to cheat
But there’s no other way to get my life on easy street

Someone else telling you what you’re living for
Been knocking you down now you're looking for more
The only sound you hear is a closing door
Been looking for peace but they’re bringing you war

Rich man crying 'cause his money is time
Poor man smiling 'cause he knows he ain’t blind
There’s a man over there says he’s tougher than me
But I got eyes that can see through fantasy

I think my life is passing me by
I think my life is passing me by

Take it all back 'cause it don’t mean nothing
If you give it away and you’re looking for something back
Wake up every morning and there’s nothing there
No reason to die but no reason to care

Someone else telling you what your living for
been knocking you down now your looking for more
The only sound you hear is a closing door
Been looking for peace but they're bringing you war

One life to live but we're doing it wrong you see
Got my brother down 'cause it's nothing to me
Rich man crying crying cause his money is time
Poor man smiling cause he knows he ain't blind

I think my life is passing me by
I think my life is passing me by

One life to live but we're doing it wrong you see
